I must ask given that about half of the citizens of the USA voted for those who would deport certain new residents, including some in the process of becoming citizens. People who have surmounted great hardships to immigrate. People who are less likely than other groups to commit violent crime or rely on government support. People who are needed to fill jobs citizens typically shun.

Indeed. I would say how we treat aliens is a huge problem in our country right now.
