Do you find inspiration in these newsletters but don’t want to commit to a paid membership? Consider the option to…
Today, I invite you to spend some time in silent consideration. Imagine me sitting with you and asking the following questions. Allow the time to turn into an internal conversation with me. I think this works best as a journaling exercise.
Acting with justice. Acting with righteousness. Delivering from oppression. These are all things “to do”. What kinds of things are we meant to do today? Be specific.
Do no wrong to aliens, orphans, or widows, and don’t shed innocent blood. These are all things “to not do”. Who are the aliens, orphans, widows, and innocents that need to be protected from harm today? Be specific.
On a personal level, what are some things you could “do” better or “not do” better? On a social level, how could we improve? Write out some “next steps” for both.
Peace, Bo

Support the Cause
My mission is to promote the progressive Christian voice in the spiritual/theological marketplace. I hope that by doing so I will help make the world a more loving place one newsletter at a time.
If you are not already a paying subscriber, I encourage you to consider it. It takes many (many) hours each week to create all the content for this project, and by becoming a paid subscriber you support the greater mission through me.
Will you consider becoming a financial supporter of the mission for only $6 per month? If so, I would greatly appreciate it.
What is righteousnes? Who are the aliens we are to assist? I must ask given that about half of the citizens of the USA voted for those who would deport certain new residents, including some in the process of becoming citizens. People who have surmounted great hardships to immigrate. People who are less likely than other groups to commit violent crime or rely on government support. People who are needed to fill jobs citizens typically shun.
Thank you Bo. As I am in a discernment process to see what is next after my job ends on February 28, this was a helpful journaling exercise.
