Today, I invite you to spend some time in silent consideration. Imagine me sitting with you and asking the following questions. Allow the time to turn into an internal conversation with me. I think this works best as a journaling exercise.
What does “to speak evil” of someone mean to you? How have you heard others do this in the last week? How have you done it?
What is it that drives you “to speak evil” of others? Why are those things crossing the line for you? When you think back through your history, where do you think those lines come from?
Why is it a problem “to speak evil” of others? What harm can it do? What other alternatives do you have in those situations?
