Today, I invite you to spend some time in silent consideration. Imagine me sitting with you and asking the following questions. Allow the time to turn into an internal conversation with me. I think this works best as a journaling exercise.
When you think of “righteousness”, what does that mean to you? What qualities does that word evoke? What behaviors?
What qualities and behaviors disqualify someone from being righteous? What are the boundaries that once crossed makes a righteous person no longer righteous?
Who are your top 3 role models for righteousness throughout your personal history? What makes them role models for righteousness for you? Look again at the lives of those role models for righteousness and identify qualities and behaviors that cross the lines for a righteous person. What in their lives disqualifies them from being righteous?
