Seeking Deeper Meaning in Life?
If you want to work through a process of intentional spiritual growth so you can become who you were truly meant to be, check out my 49-Day Spiritual Growth Journal.
Today, I invite you to spend some time in silent consideration. Imagine me sitting with you and asking the following questions. Allow the time to turn into an internal conversation with me. I think this works best as a journaling exercise.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how would you rate your general ability to be patient? Would you say your patience level is higher or lower than it was several years ago? Assuming it changed, why do you think?
Since higher levels of stress and excitement tend to reduce your ability to be patiently delay gratification, what can you do to help regulate your emotions so that you are not as anxious or excitable?
What kinds of situations turn patience into a bad thing? What does “too much patience” look like? When do you see it in your life? What might motivate you to be “too patient” when you need to act?

Support the Cause
My mission is to promote the progressive Christian voice in the spiritual/theological marketplace. I hope that by doing so I will help make the world a more loving place one newsletter at a time.
If you are not already a paying subscriber, I encourage you to consider it. It takes many (many) hours each week to create all the content for this project, and by becoming a paid subscriber you support the greater mission through me.
Will you consider becoming a financial supporter of the mission?
If so, I would greatly appreciate it.

Patience, like fasting, is holy until it turns into passivity dressed in a monk’s robe. I used to think waiting was a virtue until I realized I’d mistaken avoidance for enlightenment. Sometimes the Spirit doesn’t whisper “Wait.” Sometimes She yells “Move, fool!” and we call it anxiety when it’s actually intuition with a bullhorn. Thanks for these prompts, Bo. They're like spiritual crowbars prying open the too-tight doors of our self-justifications.
