What the Celtic Christian Perspective Has Taught Me, Part 4
During my short stint as a fundamentalist, orthodoxy was everything. It was either you had the right belief or you burned. That made it important to know what constituted heresy in order to avoid it. To help, I even picked up a relatively short book that was an encyclopedia for the various forms of heretical thought through the ages.
Once I emerged from that fundamentalist phase, I slid right into Celtic Christianity. Boy oh boy, was I surprised when I discovered that a theologian named Pelagius had a huge impact on it.
By the way, Pelagius was condemned as a heretic in 418 CE.
Imagine my surprise.
My beloved Celtic Christianity drew on theological heresy. I had to know more, and down the rabbit hole I went.
This journey changed how I saw so many things.
