Spiritual Arrogance & Humility

I remember one day in our Old Testament class back in seminary. Dr. Platt sat on her desk and said, "The prophets are an arrogant people."
From the back of the room, someone replied, "You mean the prophets seemed arrogant?"
To which she replied, "No, I mean they are arrogant."
I find it fascinating that people understand humility to be a virtue. Yet, when it comes to being theologically humble, so many Christians take an extremely arrogant posture—a posture that is not the same kind of arrogance that we see coming from the prophets in the Bible.
