I know. This isn’t normal. You didn’t sign up for recipes. But…
I wanted to try something different for fun.
Ever since college, I have become the King of Cheap Meals. In fact, trying to come up with newer cheaper meals is a game for me.
Since money is tight for a lot of people out there, I figured I might as well share.
Anyway…
I have been on a potato wedge kick for a while and love my homemade potato wedges. It takes about 45 minutes to make them.
Here are the ingredients:
3–4 russet potatoes
Olive oil
Lowrey’s Seasoning Salt
Garlic powder
Kicken’ Chicken (spice)
Mrs. Dash
What to do:
Preheat the oven to 450° F
Cut potatoes into wedges, put in bowl, drizzle with oil, and mix until covered (not too much oil, though)
Add the spices to the oily potato wedges and mix. I typically add spices, then mix a bit, then add more and lightly mix again (the more you make these, the better you will be able to dial in the flavor to taste)
Spread the wedges on a pizza pan (I cover the pan with aluminum foil)
Bake for 15 minutes
When done, flip each one and bake for another 20 minutes
When done, if they are not crispy enough for you on the outside, flip again and bake for another 5 minutes
For dipping sauce, I use either Famous Daves Rich & Sassy barbecue sauce or a combo of Arby’s Sauce and Kraft Cheese Whiz Cheese Dip. Using the barbecue sauce is a bit cheaper.
What’s the cost?
When it’s all tallied up at the end, I calculate each meal costs about $1.50, if you use the Arby’s Sause with cheese dip. If you opt for barbecue sauce, it’s about $1.00.
Go Forth and Chow Down
I hope you enjoy making these. Remember, you can always reply to this email to let me know what you think of them after you are done. I would love to hear from you.
In the future, I may or may not be sending out Random Recipes like this, but I’m leaning toward doing it because it’s fun and different. Let me know what you prefer.
Peace, Bo
