Do you find inspiration in these newsletters but don’t want to commit to a paid membership? Consider the option to…
Today, I invite you to spend some time in silent consideration. Imagine me sitting with you and asking the following questions. Allow the time to turn into an internal conversation with me. I think this works best as a journaling exercise.
When you think about God, do you instinctively imagine God as “out there,” “in here,” or somehow everywhere? What life experiences (beauty, loss, awe, nature, relationships) have most shaped how you experience God?
In your current prayer life, what shows up most: asking, thanking, listening, resting, or participating? What changes in you when prayer becomes less “getting God to do something” and more “becoming aware of God already here”?
How might your everyday ethics—how you treat your body, neighbors, and creation—shift if you truly lived as though you are always “within” God? What is one simple practice you can try this week to “pray within God”—a breath prayer, a mindful walk, or a moment of silent presence?

Support the Cause
My mission is to promote the progressive Christian voice in the spiritual/theological marketplace. I hope that by doing so I will help make the world a more loving place one newsletter at a time.
If you are not already a paying subscriber, I encourage you to consider it. It takes many (many) hours each week to create all the content for this project, and by becoming a paid subscriber you support the greater mission through me.
Will you consider becoming a financial supporter of the mission?
If so, I would greatly appreciate it.

I like how this reframes prayer from “trying to reach God” to noticing you were never outside in the first place.
Most of us were trained to treat prayer like a customer service request. This feels closer to learning how to sit inside reality without negotiating with it. Quietly radical stuff.
