Today, I invite you to spend some time in silent consideration. Imagine me sitting with you and asking the following questions. Allow the time to turn into an internal conversation with me. I think this works best as a journalling exercise.
When you are happiest, what are you doing? Why does that make you so happy? What exactly is it that you get out of doing that thing?
We learn a lot from the culture we live in. What are the cultural norms for happiness? What are you supposed to do to be happy? Do those things actually make you happy?
Think back to when you did what you thought was “the right thing” (or “the righteous thing”) at the time and ended up suffering for it. Make sure it’s a time that the outcome didn’t surprise you; you knew it was coming. Why did you do it if you knew you were going to suffer?
Peace, Bo

Support the Cause
My mission is to promote the progressive Christian voice in the spiritual/theological marketplace. I hope that by doing so I will help make the world a more loving place one newsletter at a time.
If you are not already a paying subscriber, I encourage you to consider it. It takes many (many) hours each week to create all the content for this project, and by becoming a paid subscriber you support the greater mission through me.
Will you consider becoming a financial supporter of the mission for only $6 per month? If so, I would greatly appreciate it.
