Today, I invite you to spend some time in silent consideration. Imagine me sitting with you and asking the following questions. Allow the time to turn into an internal conversation with me. I think this works best as a journaling exercise.
Think back to a time when someone sent you to do something for them. They trusted you to represent them and carry out their wishes. What did they want you to do? What did faithfully carrying out the task look like? What would unfaithfully carrying out the task have looked like?
What if a fellow were to drop by your house to ask you to represent him to do something, and that person just so happened to be Jesus? What kinds of tasks do you think he would ask of you?
When you look at Christians today, where do you see people faithfully carrying out Jesus’ mission? What are they doing that is a faithful representation of him? What do you see them doing that is an unfaithful representation of him?
