Accepting Responsibility for Your Spirituality
"Christianity as a Religion of Responsibility" series, Part 4
A few years ago, I started a progressive spirituality group in a local coffee shop. The group discussions were not religion-specific but ultimately revolved around a common theme. We were gathering as spiritual adults, and part of being a spiritual adult is accepting responsibility for your spirituality.
I began the discussion with a predetermined spiritual question. Once we started moving, I mainly kept the conversation going. Sometimes I affirmed where people were. Other times, I challenged them to go deeper. I learned a lot from the people there.
Once the pandemic hit, we stopped meeting. Yet, the project of helping people to become spiritual adults by taking responsibility for their spiritual lives continues for me as a theme throughout each new release of this newsletter. Today, I want to tackle that topic head-on.
